What’s the difference between the original manufacturer vs. third party laptop batteries?
Are genuine batteries direct from the manufacturers such as Dell and HP better than third-party versions? Manufacturer batteries are the highest quality, but we offer equally reliable third-party solutions with same-or-better specs. Batteries direct from the manufacturer are usually much more expensive than from a third party. We are able to order from both manufacturers and reliable third parties, and our knowledgeable technicians will help you determine which is best for you!
What do laptop battery ratings Voltage (V) and Milliamp-hours (mAh) mean?
Voltage (V) is a measure of electric potential. What’s important to know is that your replacement battery’s voltage must match the original, or as specified in your laptop manual. Laptop battery capacity is measured in Milliamp-hours (mAh). This can vary, and third party battery manufacturers commonly provide both less-expensive batteries with lower capacity and more expensive, higher-capacity batteries as well.
My battery is swollen, is the rest of my computer ok?
First thing first: stop using any device with a physically swollen battery. Turn the device off and do not charge it. Swollen batteries can cause cosmetic damages to laptops and in some cases, damage to computer components as well. We recommend checking-in the unit for our technicians to thoroughly inspect, and to safely replace and dispose of the swollen battery.
